Reflections for 2020
As we are drawing to the end of the year, I cannot help but look back at the unforeseen developments that have happened in 2020. I was excited for some new ventures that I was working on for this year. It was supposed to be my year if you know what I mean. But unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I have to put all my plans on hold. That does not mean life doesn't go on. I decided to find something else to do.
With excessive time in my hands, I started blogging. I don't have a creative streak in my body, so it was a miracle that I was able to write consistently. Writing came naturally after a while, and I began to enjoy it. Simultaneously, I created a YouTube Channel called "The Living Room". I have always been passionate about women empowerment and leadership. With this platform, I was able to connect and learn from some amazing women & also men out there. I want to take the time to appreciate the guests that were part of this initiative, and I do hope to keep it going.
In June this year, I tried my hand in writing my first fiction and published it online. "A Divine Connection" launched in June 2020, was one of my greatest accomplishment. That book opened doors for me to connect with a different group of people. I have to thank my friend & publicist, who came on board to support me in promoting the book. She helped land me interviews and book reviews, and I will not have been able to keep going without her. It even motivated me to write my second book, which will be out in February 2021.
Lastly, I had the opportunity to be part of the CWA Radio Network to have a regular slot to host my show. As a woman of faith, my desire has always been to have a women's ministry. My show Crossed Out, will be aired on every Sunday at 8 pm CST. This show aims to address the challenges faced by women which includes insecurities and fears. It gives them practical applications from the word of God to live an abundant life.
Overall, I will say this has been my busiest yet most fulfilling year ever. And it was not something that I had planned for or even expected. One thing this pandemic has taught me is that I can do all the planning but I have to hold it with a loose hand. Because sometimes, we may be led to go in another different direction, and it can be even better than what can imagine.
I started this year by praying this specific prayer, called the Jabez Prayer which is found in 1 Chronicle s4:10 "Oh that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory! And my journey is a testimony of how the prayer has been very real in my life.
Wishing everyone a blessed Merry Christmas & A Happy 2021!!
