International Women’s Day 2024

I love the theme for IWD this year. I have always believed that women should always empower other women. We have so many life lessons gained from our careers, families, and other relationships. We should use that to invest in other women.

I am a by-product of many inspiring women leaders who have taken the time to impart their wisdom to me. Isaac Newtown said, "If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants." Nothing can be further than the truth.

Most women come from different upbringings, and they have different values. There are still some women out there who still struggle to make it in the workplace despite the accolades. It could be fear or some other form of insecurity.

How encouraging would it be if they can tap into the strength of other women who have overcome similar challenges? It will help to refine them and unlock the potential of their true calling.

When I started the Living Room YouTube channel, I spoke to many women who came from countries where they did not have equal rights. These are the women that we should be reaching out to.

When I moved to Australia, I met many women who were international students here learning English. That taught me to be thankful for a country where English was our first language and, we have equal rights.

We don't need to venture out far to make a difference. Small things can be equally impactful. Help out a fellow sister to improve her communication skills. Organize simple events to help socially inept women get connected. Coach and mentor a university student from an underprivileged country. The opportunities are limitless. We just need to be aware and be available.
